  • Who are the Security Source Online Members?
    SSO Members are security professionals and security companies that provide a wide range of security services and equipment. There are security consultants and expert witnesses and well as security design and integration companies. Our members are both problem solvers and solution providers.
  • Will SSO respond to questions?
    Yes. Click on the Contact Us link, and we will respond. Additionally, you may contact our members directly for information. All security professionals, no matter what their discipline, are fundamentally, problem solvers. You may contact our members without fear of receiving a barrage of sales calls.
  • Can a visitor to the site post a Blog?
    No. The posting of Blogs is restricted to members of Security Source Online. However, once a blog is posted, commentary is open to anyone. Many of our Blogs are driven by the headlines of the day. When our members receive questions that are of general interest, they will often be inspired to post a blog on the subject in order to add professional perspective.
  • Are Security Source Online Members restricted to the provision of services to large companies and organizations?
    No. Some of our members provide services such a residential security systems and products. Some of our investigators and personal protection experts serve the general public as well as corporate clientele.

  • Can anyone post a blog?
    Blog postings are limited to Security Source Online members only, however anyone visiting the SSO Website may respond and offer commentary. This interactive feature will provide incentive to revisit the site.
  • Are blog postings subject to editorial review?
    Yes. SSO does not want to post blogs that are blatantly commercial advertisements for professional security services. Clearly it is appropriate to mention your company or consulting firm within the context of the post, however if your posting does not provide thoughtful content of general interest to the reader, your post may become a turn-off.
  • Does SSO accept resumes from those who are seeking employment?
    No.
  • What do you mean by vertical Market?
    SSO loosely defines vertical markets as those potential customers who are identified within a specific industry category. Examples include, but are not limited to: Healthcare, Commercial Buildings, DOD Contractors, Biotech, Shopping Malls, etc. Companies that pursue vertical markets generally do well as opposed to those organizations that try to be all things to all people.
  • How long is a membership good for?
    Security Source Online Memberships are good for one year cycles and subscriptions are non-refundable.
  • How can I become a Featured Member?
    Under the current policy, all members will be periodically cycled through the front page as Featured Members.
  • If I wish to seek marketing advice, will SSO help me?
    Yes, within limits.
  • What is the Speakers Bureau all about?
    The SSO Speakers Bureau is restricted to those members who regularly make speaking presentations on a wide array of security subject matter. Generally these presentations are to interested trade associations and/or as part of a security seminar. It is not unusual for a single honorarium to more than offset the annual membership fee.
  • Are there networking possibilities between Security Source Online members?
    Yes. Some members may have regional limitations and may find benefits in forming strategic partnerships with other members. Some members may have experiences and a knowledge base that would compliment another member’s chances of landing a contract.
