About Us

The Security Management Services International, Inc. (SMSI Inc.) team is dedicated to the provision of security management expertise and support services to enterprises providing access to the general public as part of their day to day activities. SMSI also serves the needs of manufacturing operations, the biotech industry and supply chain operations. We at SMSI are interested in developing programs that protect people as well as property. We also seek to insulate our clients from the ever-present threat of security-derived litigation. In order to meet the desired goals of a safer environment for both people and property, we provide security analysis and assessment services, security program development and design, security training programs, and both on-site as well as virtual security management support. Once SMSI has assessed your security needs and developed a set of solutions, we will represent your interests with local security providers in order to ensure maximum return on your investment. Bill Nesbitt, CPP has been providing his services as a Security Expert to law firms across the United States, for more than 30 years and he has been retained in over 600 litigations covering more than 40 states. He has worked almost equally for defense firms and plaintiff firms. His grasp of current security case law makes him a valuable member of any litigation team. Bill's clients have found it beneficial to get him involved early on in the litigation process. His understanding of tactics and strategy will often be crucial in determining the ultimate outcome of any case. He is a valuable team member in advising and developing lists for the documents necessary for a fruitful discovery process.

Bill is very familiar with premise liability cases where the assertion of inadequate security is questioned. He has testified in cases involving residential and commercial buildings, shopping centers and parking facilities, hotels and casinos, healthcare facilities, supply chain operations, nightclubs and bars as well as universities and schools. He has also offered his expertise in ATM cases. He is also familiar with intentional tort cases such as use of excessive force, false arrest and false imprisonment.
